Mt Hood Organic Farms Wedding
Mt Hood Organic Farms Wedding | Oregon
There are some wedding inquiries that stay with me long before I ever meet the couple in person, and Addie’s email was one of those!
She told me she and Justin met while studying abroad in Barcelona during college at the University of Oregon. Even though they now live in Los Angeles, they still feel deeply connected to the Pacific Northwest and wanted their wedding day to feel “euphoric” and “nostalgic.” Those were the exact words they kept using.
From the very beginning, I could tell they cared less about perfection and more about feeling. They wanted a wedding that felt honest and natural… nothing stiff or overly posed. Addie told me she wanted images that felt artful, emotional, and real, not “catalogue-looking wedding photography”.
As a Portland Wedding Photographer, those are always the weddings I connect with most.
Why They Chose Mt. Hood Organic Farms
When Addie emailed me later about why they chose Mt. Hood Organic Farms, it made complete sense.
She said they fell in love with “the eclectic carriage house against the Mt. Hood backdrop” because it felt like it brought both of their styles together. This was so accurate!
Mt. Hood Organic Farms feels refined and wildly untouched at the same time. The orchards reach toward the mountain, the gardens feel slightly overgrown in the best way, and the entire property is tucked away from the rest of the world.
It’s one of my favorite venues to photograph as a Portland Wedding Photographer because it naturally slows people down. Guests wander through the orchards with drinks in hand. Dinner feels intimate and relaxed inside the Apple House. Everywhere you look, there’s texture and movement and light.. a far contrast from the hustle and bustle of Portland.
And Mt. Hood sits as a guest of honor in the background the entire day. It almost doesn’t feel real!
The Feeling of the Day
What I remember most about Addie and Justin’s wedding is how loved they are. People traveled from all over the country to be there. One guest literally hitchhiked to the wedding after his car broke down, which made for a great story during the toasts!
The entire weekend felt emotional in the best possible way. There was laughter constantly. People crying during speeches. Friends holding onto each other on the dance floor. Addie walking down the aisle making a ridiculous face that immediately made everyone laugh. :)
Nothing about the day felt performative.. It felt like them.
That’s always what I’m hoping to document during a Mt. Hood Organic Farms Wedding. Not just how everything looked, but how it felt to actually be there.
Documentary Wedding Photography at Mt. Hood Organic Farms
One thing Addie said early on really stuck with me. She told me, “I want to work with our photographer in whatever way you feel the most comfortable and confident.”
Instead of spending the day forcing moments or over-directing, we were able to let things unfold naturally. The result was a gallery full of movement, emotion, and personality. Justin tearing up during the ceremony. Addie grabbing her friends’ hands during speeches. Everyone barefoot on the dance floor by the end of the night. Real memories.
A Wedding I’ll Never Forget!
There’s a reason Mt. Hood Organic Farms is one of the most loved wedding venues in Oregon. The views are unreal, the property feels completely transportive, and every wedding there somehow feels deeply personal.
But what made Addie and Justin’s wedding unforgettable was the way everyone showed up for them.. the way they laughed through the entire day.. the way they fully let themselves feel everything.
A week after the wedding, Addie wrote that she and Justin had “tears in our eyes for a week straight.” looking back through the photos, and I’m so grateful to have been at their wedding with my cameras in hand.
